About the Young Christian Workers

ŻĦN, Young Christian Workers, is an organisation made up of young people whose aim is to better life for themselves and society through reflection and action. The main aims of this organisation are to instil the presence of God within the community of working youths and encourage Christian leaders to be active in society and in the Church.

The Young Christian Workers Movement is an international youth movement which values the dignity and worth of each young person. It enables its members to challenge social exclusion and take action to bring about change in their home, workplace and social life.

YCW is presently active in over 100 countries and every continent with more than 3 million members. Over the past seventy years it has been a dynamic force for change as it expanded throughout the world. YCW welcomes all young people as members irrespective of whether they are members of a faith community or not.

ŻĦN is organised and led by youths on a local, national and international level. These youths keep the conditions and realities of life around them in mind, while creating an action program to better the situation.

ŻĦN consists of small groups of youths who, through this organisation, recognise and satisfy their own needs and those of their fellow youths actively. This action can be taken by themselves or as a group. Each action taken aims at helping, educating and representing youths. ŻĦN works towards a change in the situation, the condition and the personal life of youths.
